Fee Fotografie - Introducing myself & German Sim Community
-
Hi dear everybody!
I´m stogadis, a simmer from germany. Some of you may know my photo archive that goes by the name "Fee Fotografie" and where i offer pics to use for virtual stables.
I wanted to open up a topic here on your board, as a lot of you have found me lately and i am getting swamped over on our german board. To make life easier for all of us, i´d thought i get on here, then you can contact me here directly
Also, i am looking forward for the exchange, the german community and the finish community have been in contact some 10 years ago, but i think it mostly fell asleep. We are a small but quite active community and i am sure all sides could benefit from some contact!
Who am I
I´m a thirty-something studied biologist, now working in medical device industry. I´m a passionate horse-lover, photographer and knitter. I love gardening and growing my own food. My partner and me dont plan on having kids, but one day wish to own a house on the country side with a big garden, chicken, horses, cats, dogs, goats, and ALL THE OTHER ANIMALSGerman Sim Community
The first "VRH" as we call them (for virtual riding stable (german hof) popped up in the early 2000. We used to organize on a board called Gegen-Bilderklau but that kinda broke apart. We re-organized on the VRH-Treff (http://vrhtreff.fincavinka.de) in 2011 and have been active ever since. Lot´s of us have been around some 10-15-20 years and some stables are just as old. Today we have a huge registry (https://register.moorwiesen.de/) where we store all data on our horses, tournaments, stables. Basically nothing can ever get lost.
Our main focus nowadays are tournaments an breeding, we have some 100ish tournaments a month and they easily end up with 500-1000 participating horses. Therefor, of course, everything is automated and we mostly work with php and mysql.
We see some 2000-3000 foals been born every year from all kinds of disciplines and breeds; but the focus lies on warmbloods, riding ponys.Vesland
To avoid missunderstandings, some of us stopped refering to real places when we talk about the location of our stables - and created a virtual land instead, where we are all located. The Vesland also has it´s own horse breeds, basically whatever people want to come up with is allowed (currently we Vesländer Warmblood, Vesländer Riding Pony, Vinto (Vesland Pinto), Vesland Mustang, Vesländer Mini, Vesländer Draft and probably some i´m forgetting rn)
EDIT, important: Sim Lines
OK after posting i just realized i forgot something really important: In german sim we dont use names of real horses in our pedigree. We got some legal issues with that before, like "you are not allowed to pretend you own a son of donnerhall" and such, so we stricly avoid all real names in pedigrees. Of course that limits us in connecting with other communities, as for example the SAI people are often using real horses names...
Photos
We put a big emphasis on visualizing our horses and finding good pictures has been an ongoing topic for ever. Some of us started being interested in photographer and some even ended up working as professional photographers. I was among them, working part time as an equestrian event photographer to finance my university years. One of the biggest differences i currently see between your community and ours it the fact, that we dont charge money for pictures. It used to be a thing early on, but nowadays we just want to have fun and allow everyone to participate.Fee Fotografie
I started photography in 2006 and have been with a camera ever since. My most active times are over but i still got bunch of photos waiting to be edited and put online. Currently i offer just short of 10.000 horses and as the german tournament scene is sadly quite uniform its 50% brown warmbloods in dressage or jumping but i try my best to find other colors and breeds too.
My rules are (i hope) quite simple: Link back to my page, share a link to each horse with my pics underneath my album for it and dont pass the access on to others. What now
I just wanted to get in touch and get the conversation starting! Now i am anxious to get bombed with archive-access-requests, i do want to give my photo to people but sometimes i am overwhelmed when a bagillion strangers want something from m. Also my time and ressources for virtual things flactuate greatly (for example i will be away from the computer the next 3 days) BUT i will get back to it and i would love to hear from you. Perhaps you are interested in more than "just" my photos, so please tell me a bit about how things are over here, how your stables are, what goals you have and just all that such. Also i am allways happy for suggestions on where to find FREE(!) photos for me and the german community.
If you have any questions - any ideas - want to get in touch with other german simmers, want to see german stables, buy horses, meet stallions, enter our tournament or any of that: I am very happy to help and can also make contact to everyone in the german sim community too! If you are interested in exchange of photography ideas, tipps, have any questions relating to that etc.pp. go ahead!
ALSO: I dont speak finnish, i use google translate and your forum is confusing so i HOPE this area here is ok, if not, please tell me where else i might post!

Hi and welcome! I don't have anything smart to say right now, but I think that you bought one of my homebred welsh sec C's (Cedion prefix) years ago. So hi!
I'd love to get to know German simmers, especially welsh pony breeders! I've been breeding welsh ponies 10+ yrs now, mainly focusing on sec C/D and older/longer bloodlines. At the moment I have new(er) project, Tirion Welsh Ponies, where I'm focusing on bringing new blood to longer bloodlines. Starting from scratch with imports so it's a bit slower, currently I have 1st gen homebred ponies.

Same here in Finnish sim community! At least 99%
I think there's an option to switch the forum language (like buttons etc) to English. Settings = asetukset, language = kieli. If you need any help with translations or have questions, just DM me here

My english is horrible so i say just hi and welcome
Ps. I love your pictures -
Hi! Super to see you here, welcome!
Could you maybe help me and tell if there are horses with drawn pictures out there in your circles? And/Or is there a place to find all these people together, that have this type of stables? All I know is that there are a lot of these in Instagram and deviantart, but I miss having the webpages for horses. It would be awesome to do some collaborations with such people. -
Welcome!
First of all - HUGE thank you for you letting us to use your amazing photos! It has helped a lot especially when it comes to ponies and warmbloods, at least for me. I'm also very happy to see more "exotic" horse breeds that are not that common in Finland like criollo, lusitano, andalusian, quarter etc.

Also i am allways happy for suggestions on where to find FREE(!) photos for me and the german community.
Some of us also give their photos for free use, there is list about sites where you can find pictures. This list is in Finnish and contains also other links about our hobby but you can find free pictures under the first section "Vapaasti kopioitavat kuvat & linet". Some of the sites require password and rules are also mostly in Finnish, so maybe someone who can speak better English than me could help with a translation!
-
Welcome! So nice to have you here! If there is anything you or other German simmers need help with, I'm available for translations etc. You can always PM me here or at VRH!
Are you familiar with VRL, Virtuaalinen Ratsastajainliitto? Most of us use VRL for horse registrations which is mandatory if wanted to participate at VRL's competitions. We also have competitions out of VRL, called "villit" (wilds, he he) where no registration numbers for rider nor horse are required. Downside is that you will have to mark all records by hand, they won't be collected anywhere. VRL collects and calculates points for "Porrastetut", specific kind of competitions where horses graduate to the next level when they have enough points until they've reached their maximum potential.
If interested, I think it would be easiest to try competing at some "villies" since it only requires some e-mails. We have a list of coming cups and series here.
I think that if there is interest, at least I could happily insert some English notes and instructions for participation to the upcoming competitions I'm managing! Oh, by the way, you can find Finnish dressage levels here (official Suomen Ratsastajainliitto has nothing to do with simmers but we use these levels). At least I would be happy to compere these with German ones, I'm not familiar with those. Showjumping classes are held by centimeters.Hmm, what else? Well, you may have already came across my stable Kuuvuori. I have small note in English at the front page for our international quests. My goal with Kuuvuori is to breed nice eventing and showjumping horses, mainly warmbloods such as Finnish Warmbloods and Trakehners. All our horses are available for breeding, also abroad. Unfortunately some of our horses are still on the old site and their pages are moved to the new one, so not all are displayed there yet.
By the way, I'm super interested in buying some Vesländers! I already have one foal on the way but that's not gonna be enough I'll take a look at yours soon.

Hello Super glad to have you here, I'm personally very interested in making an "international" stable in english that I could use with both finnish and germans, perhaps some other communities as well. I'll definitely look in to your forum and registery! We have our own as InkkuR mentioned, I would probably use both in the future. Vesland sounds very interesting as well. What it comes to the Sim Lines, finnish community doesn't use real names either, so that fits well. I personally do my hobby with drawings, like Marjahilla, and would love to know if there's any stables in the german community that mainly uses drawings. I'll definitely register to your forum and scroll around, I used to study german so maybe I still remember something // also if translation help is ever needed with finnish I'm available as well!

Hi and welcome to Keskusta! I have been using VRH-Treff before, I had a stable Moon Sugar Ltd that you might have seen somewhere. I love German competitions, every competition feels so unique in their own ways. I also had lots of horses from Nessa, she is super nice and helped me to know VRH-Treff better.
I actually wanted to buy more German horses, but I had some issues with different aging systems. Finnish SIM-gamers typically use much faster aging, and Germans like real time aging. Finnish SIM-game horses also might have less realistic competition results, depending on the owner.

Hi and welcome to this part of the virtual world
I've been interested of your pictures and admired your work, because I've seen them a lot when I judge horses on sim-game shows and "studbook evaluations". But I have never log in to your pages. I think you maybe don't have pictures of those breeds that i'm interested in here in sim world.
I keep a sim racehorse stable. Radical Trotters where we have harness racing horses and ponies, not pacers. Breeds that we have are american standardbreds, french trotters, russian trotters, orlov trotters and cross-breeds of these. Then we have cold-blood trotters like finnhorses and dole horses, North Swedish Horses and cross-breeds of these last two. And of course we have cute ponies too, shetland ponies and gotland ponies.
We have really a warm-hearted community with other sim harness racing people. We have our own group called VRER, it comes from words Virtuaaliravien edistämisryhmä ("Virtual harness racing promotion group").
Do you know any harness racing communities or stables in your country?Oh, and I also give some of my older photos for free use. Click click

Hello and welcome to Keskusta!
Finnish people love lists and queuing. That’s why virtual circles also build their own listings.
Vapaasti kopioitavat kuvat - Under the title you will find a lot of pictures and copy entries are pre-marked in the list.I'm sorry, even though I'm in my thirties, so I use google compiler too.

Hello, nice to hear from you and the virtual world! I've been around for a little over 10 years now, I believe I started my first stable Daydream in 2011. Now I have one stable Cloudfield located in Great Britain, focused on breeding finnhorses, warmbloods, welsh part breds and friesians, and another one in Finland called Kultasaaren Kartano (roughly translates to Gold Island Estate) simply for drawn horses and writing stories.
You can find my free to use photos in here:
http://virtuaali.net/keskusta/topic/99/sonjan-vapaasti-kopioitavat (the link to the actual gallery is on that topic, password is virtuaaliset)Feel free to share these to the German community! There's not too many photos yet (just some ponies and finnhorses), but I hope I'll get some more next summer, if I have time for photographing and there's nice events somewhere close enough. The rules in English would be:
- You can adapt the photos to some extent: the picture should be recognizable as the original photo, so extreme photoshop is not allowed. But you can mildly change the lightning etc or blur people's faces, and you can also cut smaller photos to use in horselisting etc.
- Copyrights should be VRL-11911 / Vapaasti, linked with link I gave above.
- Don't share the password to other's, simply give them the link to the topic with the rules.
Hope these help!

Thank you so much for all your replies! So many cool stuff you said, i will try to reply to everything And now you know how long it might take me to get back to things
@elen :
Oooh its so nice to meet you again! Cedion Tegid Foel ended up with my friend Laura (https://psveneno.jimdofree.com/pferde-1/cedion-tegid-foel/ password is arabians) and is father two 4 very lovely welsh cobs. I sadly gave up the cobs as it was IMPOSSIBLE to get pictures for them
Welsh are a bit rare with us due to that, i breed them but only welsh mountain & welsh b. your new stable tirion sounds interesting and i will check it out. perhaps i will get in touch about exchanging some horses!@sarqquu i´m allways happy to see my photos on your page
@Marjahilla sadly we have very few stables with drawn pictures. Eulensee has some (https://eulenlicht.de/eulensee/ password is arabians) but she has not been active for a while. Nereus has some (http://nrc.gestuet-nereus.de/ also password arabians) but only if Nessa cant find suitable photos Henrich (https://henrich.mimilicious.de/) and Zur Linde (https://zur-linde.per-fidi.de/) are others i can think of, but they mostly use sim-pictures that they beautifully alter
As its so few - and only Henrich and Linde that use them exclusively - they dont have their own community. But if you´re interested in any of them i´d happily get you in contact! We all admire stables with drawn pictures but seem to lack talent and time to get into that. Oh how i wish to be immortal so i could have all the time to dive into that as well (Also i just checked out Starfarer Akatemia and el Benazir and I AM IN LOVE. Do i understand el Benazir correctly that it´s like a virtual arabian world?@Sylvi I am really glad to hear that my pictures work out for you That link is really helpful, thank you for that!
@InkkuR I know Virtuaalinen Ratsastajainliitto and i think that page is even older than our german registry. I´m allways amazed at how professionally and organized you all are. Thank you for your explanation about the tournament world, i will definitly try to get into the villits! i´m currently putting together a small team of horses that i can send to compete in them!
In regards to your beautiful stable - i am currently looking for a way to get finnish and german simmers more connected. We have quite some show jumping and eventing breeders als at least Trakehners are, as a breed, popular. I personally dont breed them, but i would love to see some finnish horses in our german lines. I will try to get back to that as soon as possible@Vanessa thank you for your offer to translate. i hope you had some time to scroll through vrh treff and our registry! an international stable sounds wonderful. as i wrote earlier, we sadly have only few stables with drawings. but we also mix that, if ever someone would sell a horse with a drawing i would happily take it in and we also mix&breed photo and drawing horses
@Jayde oh yes the aging system! i completely forgot about that. sadly some germans are quite strict with that and of course that might make a hindrance. i personally dont care, i just want all of us to have fun and if a baby ends up being older than his mother, so what but i also understand why some people struggle with that... are you all aging faster or are there also real-time-aging systems around?
(i personally have so many horses and so little time, that real-time almost feels to fast i´ll be like "why is my baby allready 8 years old???!" jokingly suggested once we might slow-track the aging so that the horses last longer@Spookiness thank you (and everyone else) for that warm welcome i received here your community is really special and its so that even someone who doesn´t speak your language can so easily be a part of it. sadly yes, we have a big difference in what breeds we have (both on stables as well photo-wise). Sadly trotters are very rare in germany, and with no photos available i believe we have noone who breeds or even owns any but thank you so much for access to your photos! if the communities get more connected and we get access to harness racing photos, perhaps some german people will pick up those lovely breeds as well!
@SissiP Even with google compiler your english is great thank you for the list!
@Sonja Also to you a BIG thank you for access to your photos. I love the horses you have around and hope you have the chance to photographe more. I will share your link and make sure everyone knows about the rules as well!

(i personally have so many horses and so little time, that real-time almost feels to fast i´ll be like "why is my baby allready 8 years old???!" jokingly suggested once we might slow-track the aging so that the horses last longerI indeed noticed, that some germans were really strict about the aging But for example Nessa was quite understanding when I changed the aging of my horses. Maybe a little bit worried still haha!
I was going to say, that almost all of us have some kind of fast aging system, but then I realized it might not be true. Quite many Finnish SIM-gamers don't have any aging for their horses, or their horses stop getting older after they turn 8 years old. Of course some people like to do things differently, and lately I've seen more realistic stables with real time aging. But compared to Germans / Swedes, Finns definitely are doing their own thing
I have one question though, that I've been thinking about years. Do you know, if there are any SIM-gamers from any other countries than from the USA, Canada, Sweden and Germany? I know there are some Deviantart people, but they don't usually make their own websites.
-
It's so nice to see that Tegid Foel is still going strong! My first homebred of the Cedion prefix! I noticed that his page doesn't show any breeder info, I wonder is there a way to get in contact with his owner and have my info added on his page
Several Finnish simmers free-to-copy -sites have photos of sec C/D welsh ponies! Maybe that could be a way to get back to breeding cobs
-
Thank you for your answer! I will to go through those pages you linked So apparently most of the enthusiasts with drawn pictures are in deviantart I think. It's just that I would very much like horses with a websites.
Starfarer and el Benazir are my little side things They are both fantasy worlds I invented, so that I get to draw special horses and characters sometimes, + mainly they are for storytelling. Wonderful that you liked them
